ALLISON, John “Jack” Fulton –Peacefully, surrounded by his family at the Stedman Community Hospice on Tuesday, June 3rd 2014 in his 89th year. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Pansy (nee Ross). He was the proud father of two fine sons; Lynn (Dawn) of Cole Harbour, N.S. and Roger (Michelle) of Guelph, Ont. Also survived by five grandchildren, Tim, Erin, Jay, Suzanne and Jonathan. Jack had eight great grandchildren, Breanna, Zachary, Noah, Rhiannon, Calista, Troy, Ava, & Kane. Also survived by a brother Bill (Myrna), sister Louise Christopher and sister in laws Audrey and Evelyn Allison. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by siblings; Marion (1962), Doris (2011), Karl (2012), Jim (2013). At 17 1/2 years of age Jack joined the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII and trained as aircrew until October 1945. His working career included Bank of Montreal in Hamilton, Brantford Brick Limited and then as an Associate Dealer for Canadian Tire Corporation in Port Hawkesbury, N.S. and Niagara Falls, Ont. Jack’s extensive volunteer work included 40 years as a patient driver for the Canadian Cancer Society, Meals on Wheels for several years and Big Brothers of Brantford. Jack was a former President and Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 29 in Paris. He was a long time member and served on the Board of St. Paul’s United Church as well as the Board of the Willett Hospital.
BARBER, Vernon Albert – At Brantford General Hospital, on Tuesday September 17, 2013, a lifelong resident of Paris, in his 88th year. Vern was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br.29 Paris, he was a Past President and a strong supporter of Northridge Golf Course. He was a volunteer ambulance driver for the Town of Paris. Beloved husband to late Effie (nee MacDonald – 1989); loved father to Doug and Sherri; cherished grandpa to Aaron (Nicole), Amber Russell (Mike), and Adam (Jen), and great grandpa to Ava, Lily, and Heath; dear brother to Clarence “Dutch”, Ernie (Pauline), Doug (Juanita), and John (Shirley). Also survived many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister in law Tiny Barber. Friends may call at the WM. KIPP FUNERAL HOME , 184 Grand River St. N. Paris on Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral Services will be held in the funeral chapel on Friday at 2:30PM. Interment Paris Cemetery. Donations to Paris Presbyterian Church or the Poppy Fund would be appreciated. At Hamilton General Hospital on Monday, June 24, 2013; Leon (Mick) Iver Jones of Paris, in his 77th year; dearly loved husband of Carol (Slater); much loved father of Casey (Stasa) Jones of Vancouver and the late Susan (2006); forever loved Grandpa of Nico and Lula Sue; eldest son of the late Noel and Molly Jones; forever missed big brother of Carole Mitchener of Brantford, Pat (Cathy) Jones, and Barrie Jones, all of Paris and the late Sharon Gaudet (2009); and much loved uncle of many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Mick was an all around sports enthusiast starting with a lifelong love of anything baseball, an unwavering devotion to the Toronto Maple Leafs and playing for Gray’s in the Paris Industrial Softball League. He was the biggest booster of his home town of Paris and was a dedicated supporter of the Paris Legion, Branch #29, Paris. Friends will be received at the WM. KIPP FUNERAL HOME , 184 Grand River Street North, Paris on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where funeral service will be held on Friday, June 28 at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Victor Krueger-Kischak of St. James Anglican Church, Paris officiating.
